The Fashion Fairy Godmother, Designer, Educator, Mentor, Speaker, Author
Lenese Calleea—known as the Fashion Fairy Godmother—is a fashion entrepreneur, technical design and production expert, and educator with over a decade of experience across design, garment construction, and apparel manufacturing. She holds a BFA in Fashion Design and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Global Fashion Management at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), to be awarded May 2026.
Lenese serves as an Adjunct Professor at FIT, where she teaches fashion business and production-related coursework, bringing real-world industry experience directly into the classroom. Her commitment to education extends beyond higher learning—she has taught fashion and sewing programs through Harlem Needle Arts, NYC Department of Education after-school programs, and the Grand Street Settlement Community Center, ensuring access to creative education across age groups and communities.
She is the Founder & Creative Director of Calleea Vatein, a contemporary brand creating jackets, jumpsuits, and statement pieces designed for the creative entrepreneur’s lifestyle—rooted in classic silhouettes, confident color, and intentional design. Lenese is also the CEO of LC Apparel Consulting, where she supports brands through end-to-end product development, production strategy, and scalable manufacturing systems, and the Founder of The Black Girlz Designer Club, a nonprofit dedicated to educating and empowering the next generation of designers.
Deeply embedded in New York City’s Garment District, Lenese hosts tours, workshops, and masterclasses nationwide and is the creator of BlackNFashion Media & Podcast, a platform amplifying Black designers and fashion entrepreneurs. She has supported product development and production for over 200 emerging brands and remains a passionate advocate for education, equity, and community in fashion.
Her mission is simple and powerful: bringing dreams to life—beautifully, ethically, and profitably.
